Questions related to doujinshi:
I was asked if I do doujinshi translations.

My reply: No, sorry. My command of Japanese is such that I would have to look up in a dictionary 95% of the kanji that are in the djs. And then I would have no clue about the slang, since they don't teach that in school. It's hard work reading the comics!

I was asked if I was planning on putting up whole doujinshi.

My reply: I see now it is more economical to use my web space to further worship Duo in the form of Duo pictures. Whole doujinshi take up a lot of space, and they do not nearly have as much Duo in each comic as it may seem on Hotter Than Hell ^_^

I was asked where I got my doujinshi.

My reply: Doujinshi can be bought from online auctions, and online doujinshi stores. And Japan. One summer, one of my friends went to Japan and picked up about 50 Gundam Wing djs for me, plus tons of DBZ, Sailor Moon and Utena for herself.

There are plenty of doujinshi that are non-yaoi, you just have to know which they are..... The doujinshi anthologies are the best way to go. They are usually over 200 pages, and have drama, comedy, and some romance, but no explicit scenes.....at least not in the list that I'll provide for you. Also there are many art styles within one book. Pocke W series (my fave): W 1st, W 2nd, W 3rd, W 4th, W 5th, W 6th, and W 7th. Operation W series: 1-8. Rising Earth series: 1-13. Wing Beat series: 1-3. Project series: 01, 02, 03, 04. Endless Waltz series: 1-3. Super Nova. Raison d'etre. Moving Action series: 1-2. Dengeki Gundam Wing (second fave). W Double You series: 1-9.

Watch out for a couple of anthologies: Wings of Freedom is loaded with yaoi, and there is this other one that I do not know the name of but it says on the cover that it is a yaoi special. There's roses on the cover, and I think Trowa is handcuffed.....haven't seen the guts of this myself, the cover turns me away. I only kept Wings of Freedom because there is some of the cute Hamada Meri babies strips in it.

If you see a doujinshi you like somewhere, and wonder about it's content, I can try to help you out. I don't know by names, but if you send a link to the doujinshi, I can let you know how explicit it is, provided I have seen it before.

I was asked what is a doujinshi.

My reply: They are comic books based on an anime/manga seires, made without the permission of the series's owners. They have no actual, official standing in the normal continuity of the original series, no matter how closely they follow the original series. The artists of doujinshi do make money off of the books they create, and its considered okay in Japan, so long as they are not produced in large runs. This would be pretty illegal in the USA. Even "Weird Al" asks for permission for every song he parodies.
